I started Kick Investor because I wanted to understand investing – not from the perspective of a Wall Street pro, but as someone who would like to make smarter money decisions and to know more precisely what I’m doing with my investments.
Why Join an Investing Community?
Maybe you’re someone like me. You’re a person who believes there are skills to be learned in the practice of investing but doesn’t have a structure to applying any concepts.
I know what it’s like to not know where to put your money – you read the financial headlines first thing in the morning and can’t help but think “Is investing going to crash and burn soon?”
Its easy to think that investing will cause more pain than success, with headlines consistently focusing on the near-future negatives of government policies, jobs reports or geopolitical turmoil. And yes, these events do make an impact over certain prices at times.
I’d like to credit David Gardner in his book “Rule Breakers” for pointing out one of the most important ideas when it comes to investing. You’re in it for the long haul. Markets have gone up more than they’ve gone down since the stock market first opened.
However, maybe you’re more like me than originally thought. You want those quick successes after you see people flaunting their trading success on social media with their lambos. They love talking about what their habits are for trading every day and how they live now that they’re wealthy through trading. So you look at crypto and think it’s a wiser decision to invest in. You end up buying x amount of Bitcoin, Doge coin, Ethereum, or any of the other and find yourself in the red quickly after the president or Elon Musk makes a tweet that spooks the price.
Ultimately, what I’m trying to say is that you are like me with the thought “other people can do it, why can’t I do it too?”

My Philosophy
I believe anybody can become an investor. This holds true, especially today, with the amount of tools at our disposal. Our phones can be equipped with all the tools we need to become successful investors.
It just takes curiosity, patience, and a willingness to learn from mistakes (mine included).
